Buhari Orders Sale Of Assets Seized By Anti-Graft Agencies To Boost Public Funds

Unic Press UK: The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, has ordered the sale of all the assets that has been confiscated by the government in anti-graft probes.

In a statement Monday in Daura, Katsina State, President Buhari said that all the national assets recovered as a result of the government’s anti-graft measures would be sold in order to generate more funds to boost the country’s treasury.

This position of the Buhari-led government was made clearer as the president held discussions with the representatives of social groups in Daura Emirate, including the Daura Emirate Coalition of Associations, the Amalgamation of Daura Emirate Political Associations, the Buhari Group, the Daura Emirate Development Forum, Women in Politics in Daura Emirate and the Daura Emirate Consultative Forum, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said in a press statement on Monday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) are the two prominent anti-graft agencies in Nigeria, established by the Nigerian government to investigate and prosecute offenders.
