₦200m Reward On Killers Of 17 People In Omoku, Rivers State – Gov. Nyesom Wike

Unic Press UK: The Rivers State government would offer ₦200 million reward for information leading to the capture of the killers of 17 people in Omoku, Rivers State.

Governor Nyesom Wike made this offer of ₦200 million reward on Tuesday when he visited the community.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the 2nd January 2017, by the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakandu, the Rivers State Governor said:

“We have placed a ₦200 million bounty for relevant information that will lead to the arrest of all those involved in this unfortunate act of violence. Anybody who is connected to this crime in any way will have his/her houses forfeited to the Government. This place has been peaceful before this unfortunate mayhem. We will not allow another case of this violence. We have mobilized the security agencies to take the battle to the perpetrators”.

It was in the early hours of 1st January 2018 that armed hoodlums attacked innocents, killed 17 people and injured many who were returning to their various homes after a New Year day’s church service in Omoku, Rivers State.
