Unic Press UK: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one of the front-line opposition political parties in Nigeria, says the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the government of Muhammadu Buhari are overseeing massive fraud in the oil sector.
A press release from PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondinyan, flayed the Muhammadu Buhari administration, accusing the government of telling lies to cover ineptitude and incompetence. He said:
“This APC government is not only grossly incompetent and corrupt but also a champion in the use of lies and manipulations against innocent and unsuspecting citizens”, demanding that the Buhari administration “speak out on reports of fraud in the oil regime whereupon 18 unregistered companies were used to lift and divert $1.1 trillion worth of crude oil in the last one year.”
There has been acute scarcity of fuel in all the regions in Nigeria. On Monday, the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA) issued a Press Release, saying that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (
“Our members’ depots are presently empty! However, if PPMC/NNPC can provide us with PMS, we are ready to do 24 hours loading/truck out to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians… Our members pay PPMC/NNPC in advance for petroleum products; and fully paid up PMS orders that have neither been programmed nor loaded is in excess of 500,000MT (about 800,000,000 litres) as at today and enough to meet the nation’s needs for 19 days at a daily estimated consumption of 35,000,000 litres!”
Still on the perennial fuel scarcity: we charge the failed @APCNigeria led FG to tell Nigerians the sleazy oil subsidy payment and the attempt to pilfer $1B from the ECA.
