Scarcity Of Fuel: Nigerian Govt. Has No Plans To Increase Price – Vice President Osinbajo

Unic Press UK: The government has made no plans to increase the price of petroleum products at this time or in 2018, the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, said.

Osinbajo, who toured several fuel terminals in Lagos today, in the light of acute scarcity of fuel across the country, said:

“The President is very much concerned about Nigerians and how we can quickly end the fuel scarcity crisis in the country. The fuel crisis presently confronting the country is as a result of shortage of supply of fuel to depots across the country”, the Voice of Nigeria reported.

There has been scarcity of fuel across the country all through last week, causing long queues at various petrol stations. Many car owners and transporters resorted to buying petrol from the black market.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said Saturday that it will flood the fuel depot across the country with with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) – also known as petrol, saying; “Already, six major marketers: Total, Forte Oil, Oando Plc, MRS, 11 Plc and Nipco Plc, are now loading products round the clock from their various depots in Lagos for onward trucking to all parts of the Country.”
