South Africa: Cyril Ramaphosa Voted ANC President

Unic Press UK: South Africa Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa, 65-year-old, has been elected as African National Congress (ANC) president. He defeated front-line contestant Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, 68.

Ramaphosa is probably the next South African president as his party, which was formed on 8th January 1912, is the foremost political party in South Africa, with massive followers.

The 65-year-old was born in Soweto, Johannesburg, in 1952. He was active during the struggle against apartheid and clamor for South Africa’s independence, and was detained in 1976 and 1974 over his  anti-apartheid activities. He has been South Africa Deputy President since 2014.
