Unic Press UK: Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose, who is the current Chairman of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, has formally declared his intention to contest the party’s presidential primaries.
Fayose is of southern roots. So his declaration today, Thursday, is against the PDP zoning of the presidency to the northern region
In his speech at the ceremony in Abuja, which had in attendance many dignitaries including ex-Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and a former deputy governor of Osun state Iyiola Omisore, the presidential aspirant Fayose said:
“Our economy will be revived and returned to the path of progress that it was before we had the misfortune of having clueless people in power. You are guaranteed government that will not relate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation and percentage of votes. It will be on equity and justice as citizens of one nation, one people, and one destiny.”
