Python Dance II: Governor Ikpeazu Visits NUJ Over Army Invasion Of Secretariat

Unic Press UK: The Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu visited the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abia council, in solidarity with journalists over the invasion of their office last Tuesday by the Nigerian army. The incident occurred barely two days’ after the army clashed with IPOB members near the home of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

During the visit to NUJ secretariat, Governor Ikpeazu praised God for helping/protecting the state. He said:

“…We are grateful to God for intervening in stopping what could have been the greatest bloodbath known in the history of mankind…”

The Nigerian military, currently on a mission nicknamed Python Dance II in the South East region of Nigeria, allegedly caused havoc in several other parts of Abia state on 10th September 2017, on the streets near the residence of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and in several other parts of Abia state. Thereafter, on Tuesday, the 12th, the Nigerian army invaded the NUJ office

Unic Press UK and several other sources confirmed that, during a procession on 10th September 2017 at circa 18:30 hrs, the Nigerian army moving in a convoy of armored personnel carriers, had fired live ammunition in the area where IPOB leader lives, causing chaos and severe injuries on several innocent civilians.

Okezie Ikpeazu was accompanied by the deputy governor of Abia state Udo Oko Chukwu, the House of Representative member Sam Onuigbo who is currently representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency, and several other dignitaries
