Unic Press UK: The Nigerian government claims that the opposition to the current APC-led government is using the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to destabilize the country.
At a news conference in Lagos yesterday, Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said that a ‘coalition of the politically-disgruntled and treasury looters’ were behind efforts by IPOB to destabilize Nigeria. The opposition seeks to cause chaos through discrediting the laudable achievements of the Buhari administration and promoting IPOB, Lai accentuated.
Lai view on IPOB is contrary to the outcome of a recent poll – one by Guardian Newspaper based in Nigeria and another by UK Press UK based in the United Kingdom.
The outcome of Guardian Newspaper’s poll:
- 52% said No, did not support the Federal Government of Nigeria
- 38% in support
- 10% indifferent
