Unic Press UK: The emergency services responded yesterday following an explosion in at Parsons Green Underground Station, London, at circa 08:20 a.m.
An update from the Metropolitan Police reads:
“At present we are aware of 18 people who have suffered injuries, mostly flash burns. The station remains cordoned off and we are advising people to avoid the area. We urge the public to remain calm but alert and if you have any concerns, see or hear anything suspicious, then please contact us. We now know this was a detonation of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).”
Prime Minister Theresa May described the incident as a “cowardly attack”.
The UK national threat level is currently at its highest level, which is, “critical”.
