Unic Press UK: In compliance with the verdict of the Supreme Court of Kenya, the rerun of the country’s initial presidential election of 2017 will hold on 17th October 2017, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) said Monday.
The rerun was ordered by the Supreme Court of Kenya, the country’s highest court of justice, thereby upholding the argument of a serial presidential candidate Raila Odinga – who contested in 1997, 2007 and 2013 – that the presidential election of 8th August 2017 was marred by widespread irregularities/rigging.
The battle for the office of presidency in Kenya remains a two-horse race, between the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta and a former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The leader of the opposition Raila Odinga is demanding that that all senior officials at the IEBC resign and face prosecution over the lapses that marred the election that was held on 8th August. This position has been countered by Manoah Esipisu, the State House spokesperson.
The road to justice was never to be a smooth path, it would be faced with sacrifice, suffering and struggle. https://t.co/QNqD7nAgSl pic.twitter.com/2WhedFqEUH
