Islamic State Leader Killed In Afghanistan – Pentagon

Unic Press UK: United States military killed Abu Sayed, the head of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan. He was killed in the northeastern province of Kunar, the Pentagon said.

The excerpts from a press statement issued yesterday by the U.S. Department of Defense:

“U.S. forces killed Abu Sayed, the head of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan, in a strike on the group’s headquarters in Kunar province, Afghanistan, July 11… The raid also killed other ISIS-K members and will significantly disrupt the terror group’s plans to expand its presence in Afghanistan… ISIS leaders chose Abu Sayed to lead the group, which is an affiliate of ISIS, after Afghan and U.S. forces killed the previous ISIS-K leaders – Hafiz Sayed Khan in late July 2016, and Abdul Hasib, in late April this year…”

Last month, the Russian defense military said that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was probably killed in May 28th 2017 by its aerospace forces during an airstrike.

Islamic State members are diehard jihadists who adhere to an extreme interpretation of Islam. They insist that they are the only true believers. They uphold an ideology that espouses murder of non believers.
