Delayed Intel Briefing On Russian Hacking ‘Very Strange’, Says Trump

Unic Press UK: The United States president-elect Donald Trump said the decision from the intelligence agencies to delay until Friday the briefing on how the Russians hacked a series of U.S. servers is very strange.

The Obama administration, on Thursday, the 29th December 2016, imposed a series of sanctions against Russia, citing that the Russian intelligence agencies were responsible for the cyberattacks/hacking into U.S. servers [including the Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers] in a manner that tilted the U.S. 2016 presidential elections to favour the Republican Party. The sanctions against Russia included: The expulsion of 35 Russian operatives listed as “persona non grata.” These operatives were told to leave the U.S. with their families within 72 hours.

In his reaction to the sanctions from the U.S., the Russian president Vladimir Putin said in a statement published on the Kremlin website:

“… We reserve the right to retaliate, but we will not sink to the level of this irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy. We will take further moves on restoring Russian-American relations based on the policies that the administration of President-elect Donald Trump adopts… We will not forbid families and children from spending the New Year’s holidays at the places they are used to. Moreover, I invite the children of all American diplomats with accreditation in Russia to New Year’s and Christmas festivities in the Kremlin…”

Trump had brought into question the allegations that the Russians swayed the 2016 U.S. presidential election through coordinated hacking of U.S. servers, including Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers and Hillary Clinton campaign.
