Unic Press UK: Prior to the election of Donald Trump as the 45th elected President of the United States of America, a noble laureate Wole Soyinka said that in the event that Trump is declared winner of the U.S. 2016 presidential election, he would tear up his green card.
The threat to tear up his green card was made by Soyinka when he addressed students at Oxford University’s Ertegun House.
Soyinka said: “If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that. The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”

After Donald Trump was declared winner of the 2016 presidential election, a number of people have clogged the social media space, especially Facebook and Twitter, asking Soyinka to honor his words.
