Unic Press UK: Argentina and Barcelona soccer legend, Lionel Messi, has been sentenced to twenty-one months in prison for tax fraud. Lionel’s sire, Jorge Messi, is to serve prison term too.
Lionel and his father, Jorge, were found guilty on three counts of tax fraud by a Court sitting in Barcelona.
The Court ruled that Lionel Messi should pay a fine of circa £1.7mn. His dad, Jorge Messi is to pay £1.27mn.
In the course of the matter at Court, Lionel insisted that he knew nothing save playing football, but the tax office argued that he knew what was going on.
